Based upon the spirit of "diligence, thrift and honesty" of the founder, Mr. Yang Shengxue (Fenghe), Min-Hwei College upholds the concept of humanism and profession, and nurture the sense of responsibility and mission of Min-Hwei people. In addition, in response to the diversified education trends of the society, we should fortify the career readiness and competency of the student, take into account the needs of national development and industrial structure, and coordinate the characteristics of schools and departments, so as to make systematic and coherent curriculum design. Based on this, the 2018-2022 Higher Education SPROUT Project aims to implement teaching innovation and foster employability, and to cultivate practical and practical professionals. Through this project, it can achieve The cultivating vision of "many in one, leading employment" shapes the future employability of students. After reviewing the implementation of the first stage of Higher Education SPROUT Project, the plan execution rate was 100%, based on 29 quantitative indicators set and customized by the ministry, 20 goals were achieved in the year 2019, and the achievement rate of performance indicators was 70%. Reviewing the implementation results of the 2019 year plan, and the shortcomings will be revised and adjusted in 2020-2022. The highlights of the implementation of the first stage are summarized as follows:



1. Students Dimension:

(1) Improvement of learning effectiveness

Knowledge in the medical and nursing profession is changing rapidly. Traditional teaching can no longer meet the learning trends and needs of the new generation of students. It provides practical situations in the clinical field. The innovative teaching model that uses industry experts to lead the practice and flip the classroom is the best weapon. Through Higher Education SPROUT Project, we offer cross-domain experience integration learning mode courses, and invite industry experts to collaborate with practical course teaching and guidance to strengthen students' professional practical ability. For example, the nursing students can participate in the clinical skills (OSCE) certification before the nursing practice, the passing rate has been greatly increased from 60% to 99.29% in 2017-2019; the annual pass rate of the beauty certificate of the department of Cosmetology and Health Care of C is maintained at 93% or more. The passing rate of Certification of Childcare Providers increased from 37% in 2018 to 92% in 2019, showing that the implementation effectiveness is stable and has grown significantly.



(2) Increase in international mobility of teachers and students

In order to enhance the professional competitiveness of students in the workplace, Min-Hwei College emphasizes on the assistance of domestic industry experts to enhance the professional capabilities of teachers and students, the expansion of professional horizons through the increase of international mobility is also an indispensable element. In 2018-2019, school teachers and students conducted overseas studies and exchanges with Colleges in Japan and Australia. The number of participating departments increased to 2 subjects; the number of participating teachers and students increased to 13. Although it grows slowly, but it has begun to lead teachers and students to extend their tentacles by expanding international horizons, enhancing self-professionalism, and establishing employment links.



(3) The employment rate of graduates has increased significantly

Min-Hwei College is committed to matching students' internship and workplace integration, and employment is upon graduation. Although students have the willingness, the initial employment rate has not increased significantly. Based on multiple-faceted developments in the first stage of the deep cultivation plan such as the promotion of professional and technical practice improvement, internship counseling, and career counseling, the employment rate has increased from 43.28% in the 2017 academic year to the 2018 academic year . The rate has risen to 50.61%. Among them, the employment rate of Department of Child Educare in the 2018 is as high as 95%. Obviously, through the implementation of the deep cultivation plan, the school has gradually shown effectiveness in promoting students to "graduate as employment".



2. Courses Dimension: Increase of the number of participants in cross-domain learning

School departments takes "health promotion-general nursing" as the development goal in order to increase the future employment competitiveness of non-nursing students, to respond to future changes in the social industry, and to expand employment opportunities and fields. We set up a "Nursing Education Exploration Camp" in summer vocation, the courses of which are basic nursing major subjects, so that students of other subjects can have basic nursing majors as the cornerstone of future diversified development. The number of subjects offered in 2018-2019 increased from 3 to 6 and the number of students participating increased from 72 to 134.



3. Faculty Dimension: the numbers of completed industry studies continue to grow

In order to enhance the close coordination between the teaching research of our school's teachers and industry needs, introduce industry experience, strengthen teachers' practical teaching ability and connotation, and promote and encourage full-time professional teachers of Min-Hwei College, it is necessary to go to the industry for half a year to conduct related professional or technical studies every 6 years. In study or research, the completion rate of industrial study by teachers in the 2017-2019 academic year has increased from 20.50% to 47.50% year by year. Teachers can introduce industry practices and experience into the classroom to achieve long-lasting effects in teaching.
